Hey y’all! I just wanted to share the outfit that I’m wearing on this warm, sunny, gorgeous February Saturday afternoon. Is it a fabulous example of high-fashion, class, and/or thought-out mixing/matching? Nope, quite the opposite.
You may have noticed that I’ve been doing fewer and fewer “outfit” posts lately. Why? Because in the midst of craziness, sickness, cold weather, and hard work, I’ve been wearing jeans nearly everyday. Plus it’s really hard to get photos before it gets dark outside. 😛

But hey, I know y’all are just as busy, stressed, and cold as I am, so I’m going to try to share more of my outfits regularly again. Even if they are just simple jeans and air-dried hair.
// outfit details //
Jeans: American Eagle brand, ThredUP
Cardigan: Tricot Joli brand, ThredUP
Tank: Forever21: $1.80
Flipflops: Sears? I don’t remember
Earrings: Groupon, $10
Hairtie/bracelet: Gift

For days such as today when I have a bunch of piled-up responsibilities to get to, I love long cardigans like this. I can throw it on over a tank on warm days or over a long-sleeved shirt on cold days and it helps keep my jeans modest by covering over my hips.

I’m really thankful for sunny days in the middle of winter like this. I went for a drive with the windows down to dry my hair and I really needed the excuse (flip flops!) to finally paint my toenails again. 😀
Y’all have an awesome day! What’s been keeping you busy this week?

  1. I LOVE this outfit!! It looks so practical, but is still so pretty. 🙂
The colors you chose are beautiful too.

Mostly this week has been filled with working on our online business and, of course, being a wife and mother (the best kind of "busy" there is). I completely understand not getting the pictures taken before dark for the blog (same with mine and we've been so extra busy!).

  2. Olivia, you look absolutely stunning! I just want to tell you how refreshing it is to see that you are still making these lovely, modest outfits despite the hectic-ness (is that a word? XD) of your life. You are truly a blessing and are a wonderful role model! God bless!

  3. Haha I love sunny days in winter too- and painting my toenails. 🙂 I LOVE this outfit! Such a cute cardigan. And don't worry, I feel like I've been wearing the same thing ever day as well. I love your haircut! It's very similar to mine so I love seeing how you made it look so awesome, even if it's air dried. 🙂

  4. A quick question on the topic of jeans: how do you find jeans that fit through ThredUp? I have a hard enough time finding jeans that fit when I can try them on at stores that I never would have considered shopping online. Any tips?

P.S. In case you're wondering who I am, I've been reading your lovely blog for a while now, but I'm terrible at commenting (read: basically never comment, even on blogs I love [like this one 🙂 ]).

    1. Hey Esther! Thanks for the comment! 😉
I have found a brand (American Eagle), fit (Artist), and size (4 short) that fits me great every time, so I can tell just by the picture and length description on ThredUP that the jeans will fit. American Eagle has several styles but the Artist is the only one with two buttons, so that's the distinguishing mark for me since ThredUP doesn't put that much detail into their description. I don't know if that would work for very many people, but it works for me. 🙂 Hope that helps!

    2. Just wanted to chime in to day that I do the same with ThredUP, and it works really well for me too. I have exactly one brand/size/style of jeans that I know for sure fits me, and I seek them out on the regular (and they happen to be around $7-10 on ThredUP which is way cheaper than in stores. In fact, I noticed the other day that in the past year I've gone from owning one pair of jeans that I NEVER wore, to owning SIX that I wear al the time thanks to TU–something I would have thought improssible a year ago since jeans are SO hard to shop for!

  5. I really enjoy seeing these casual outfits. I live on a farm in Tennessee like you, so sometimes dresses and skirts just aren't possible, especially when you end up spending the whole day on horseback or working with the horses on the farm! 🙂 It's nice to remember that we CAN be modest and feminine even on a farm!

  6. Air dried hair? No shame, I do this every day. Your natural hair is so cute!

I will pray that your sickness leaves. It's hard to be a soldier in the kingdom of Christ and be unwell. Jesus wants you healed.

  7. Hey, this is awesome! It's still a snowy, freezing cold February so I have been wearing jeans most of the time too. So don't feel bad. 🙂 I LOVE your hair….did you cut it? Air dried is nice. 🙂 It looks beautiful in Tennessee. Thank you for sharing those modest tips! I'm sorry I haven't commented in so long…my bad. 🙁
    Have a blessed day!

  8. I think the biggest thing that sets you apart in your outfit photo shoots is your bright smile. When I am at the mall walking by the massive pictures of models in the window, too often they are wearing a pout! Just something I noticed & thought I'd share. Out of curiosity, what would you deem your personal style? ie, preppy, boho, etc.

  9. Lovely outfit! I'm glad we will be seeing of you and your outfits. Your other posts are lovely too, but I still miss "you". 🙂

  10. Jealous of your sunny day! Still frigid and snow storming here 🙂 Love the simplicity and "sunshine" factor of this outfit! Reminds me of spring and keeps me looking forward to it and hoping that it WILL come eventually! Also, your hair looks especially amazing. 🙂 And hey, your tank and bracelet match perfectly! Can't deny that 😉 School, chores, babysitting, time with friends, and homeschool group stuff has kept me pretty busy this week. Deepening the knowledge of my faith yesterday with some of my best friends during my Confirmation meeting (I'm Catholic :)) was definitely one of the highlights! Also, brownies and cupcakes. Yum.

  11. Hi Olivia! I've been "sort-of" following your blog for a couple of years now, meaning I don't come here frequently, but do check back for inspiration now and then and to see what you've been up to, haha. I don't usually comment, but I have a suggestion for the blog: adding a photo gallery. I don't know about the other readers, but when I come here for ideas, I don't necessarily have time to scroll through various categories, click on every article that might help, and spend time loading pages etc. It always helps me to just scroll through pics until I find what I need to pull together an outfit. Not to say the post itself isn't funny, helpful, and charming, but sometimes you need a quick idea. Like pinterest 🙂 I'd be really happy if you would consider slopping together a quick little gallery!
    God bless,

  12. I loooove that cardigan!! Thanks for posting your jeans outfits- it's hard to find gals like you who show how to wear jeans modestly 🙂
