Hey! Brrrr it’s cold here in Tennessee!
This is what I wore a few Lord’s Days ago. I took some cues from the Boyer Sisters and paired simple classics together for a more vintage-y look than I usually go for.
Barbie-high pony tales don’t go with that look, I know.
There are so many ways I could have made this outfit better. Nicer hair-do, navy blue shoes, belt, iron my skirt again before pictures… but there are more important things to worry about, so I let it go and put a smile on. My hope with Fresh Modesty is to encourage you to dress well with what’s available in the most deliberate way possible, so that you can get on to what’s more meaningful in life.

Sweater: Ralph Lauren, ThredUP
Skirt: ThredUP
Shoes: Kmart.com, $25 (gift)
Earrings: Gift
Necklace: Groupon, $9.99
Bracelet: c/o Gracewear Collection

Speaking of meaning, Gracewear Collection sent me this lovely bracelet to review. The design of their collection is very deliberate. This is from their website:
The mission of Gracewear Collection is to offer a powerful and purposeful Christian lifestyle brand that represents covering women daily in God’s protection, mercy, and grace. The Shield of Faith Collection is an beautiful way for women to wear and share their faith- while intentionally putting on the Armor of God for all of life’s battles.
Our vision is to share with women about the gift of God’s Grace, and His promise that there is absolutely NO sin- great or small -that His Grace will not cover. God calls us to be ambassadors for Christ and to let His love and light shine through us. Gracewear Collection is based on Ephesians 6: 10-18- and is created to offer HOPE and LIGHT- through the Power of the Shield.
This bracelet is just lovely. It’s lightweight, sturdy, and easy to layer. I don’t like bracelets that you’re constantly aware of; this one is effortless.
Isn’t Gracewear’s jewelry just perfect? What jewelry do you reach for when you’re going for a simple classic look?

  2. Oh my! You can't imagine my surprise when I read your post, and you said that you were inspired by us girls for your outfit! That really put a smile on my face πŸ™‚

Oh, and I love (!) how simple and effortless your ensemble is! Definitely something I wouldn't mind wearing πŸ˜‰ That bracelet is truly beautiful, and I love how deliberately designed they are.

  3. That's a nice, simple, but cute outfit and the bracelet is very pretty. I appreciate how your clothes are modest, yet not the complete focus of all your time and attention. Like you said, our dress is important, but there is MUCH more meaningful things in life for us to take care of. We should be examples in our appearance as Christians, but then look past ourselves and go help others. By the way, your hair looks cute like that. πŸ™‚

  4. Lovely outfit! I really like that sweater! I also like how you could have easily changed it to a more casual outfit by throwing some flats or converse instead of the heels.
Just a thought, if you ever wore this again, it would look SUPER cute with a mustard yellow beret like the one you wore in your "One Reason Church is So Important to Me" post for a slightly different look.

  5. This looks so nice! I can relate in that I take inspiration from vintage silhouettes into my style but don't have the resources always to sew vintage patterns for myself. Someday, maybe! I really like this whole outfit, but especially the skirt!

  6. Huge fan of dressing well with what's available in the most deliberate way possible! That's also how I try to live, so that goal is so beneficial to me πŸ™‚ You look so beautiful and classical here. I love it. Also, THOSE SHOES. I need me some of 'em. Right, I know, "need" is totally off-the-charts, but just take that as expressing how lovely I think they are. πŸ˜‰

    1. Thanks! Haha, I didn't realize he had worn it in a video. I sent Josh and Kelly some shirts as a thank you for mentioning my business on their podcasts so many times. πŸ˜€ Thanks for letting me know!

  7. Lovely outfit. Another great choice, Olivia. One of the girls in my catechism class actually has a Gracewear bracelet. It is very nice. πŸ™‚

  8. Hello I’m 16 and my sister is 12 and her and I want to start wearing skirts/dresses but don’t know where to begin because seeing all the fashionable pants shorts and everything else makes me want to wear pants still but I feel some sort of calling to wear skirts and dresses but I’m hesitant about it I think I need someone to talk to. 1. Hey Dailya– My name is Sara. I am a huge fan of skirts/dresses but I also understand how you feel about pants being so "in'' right now. If I had to choose one skirt that I couldn't live without it would probably be my dark denim long skirt. I bought Olivia's denim skirt e-book and would highly recommend it! Also if you don't sew Olivia sells the errand #17 skirt on http://www.freshapparel.us/. I bought my favorite long denim skirt on http://www.koshercasual.com/. I love it! It goes with everything! I also love my nee-length dark denim skirt. I bought that one from a thrift store (thrift stores are great skirt finding places). Maxi skirts are also great options because the are comfortable, cute, modest and they are "in'' right now (I have three maxi skirts and really like them).
I hope that this helps. I am not a skirt expert but these are some things that I have learned along the way!
      Blessings,
      Sara
