It’s funny how sometimes we humans are irresponsible and then pray that we won’t reap the consequences of those mistakes. Simple things, like not picking out your church clothes on Saturday because you hung out with friends instead. So you wake up at 6:15am, fervently praying that you’ll find a cute and easy outfit among Mount Laundry on your floor. But then it’s also funny how we can praise God so much for answered little prayers, like when you do find an outfit, and then forget to praise Him for the big things, like the fact that you actually woke up.

Well, the inevitable has happened. Fall has come to Tennessee, and with
it cooler temperatures. (not for long? is so funny) Today
wasn’t cold, but it wasn’t warm either, unless you were in the sun.
This afternoon my sister helped me carry our basement couch out to the sunshine and I had a lovely nap under pillows and blankets in the fresh air.

Y’all asked for a picture of Princess Tiger Lily… so here she is! She’s kinda funny and rather adorable.

Cardigan: JCPenny’s
Tank: JCP
Skirt: Goodwill
(You can’t tell, but I’m wearing dark green tights)
Boots: Shoe Carnival
Earrings: Gift
(and yes, I did wear a hat, but I walked home and didn’t want to bother carrying it and my brother in these heels)
I  hope you have a fabulous week! Have any special plans?

  1. Cute outfit and what an adorable puppy! Funny to think it's only just getting cooler where you are. Special plans this week: fellowship group for Bible study which I'm pretty excited for!

  2. YOUR PUPPIE IS ADORABLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Golden retriever, no?
I like the outfit too! πŸ˜‰ I'm always amazed at how you put things together — then later as i look into my closet I think — "W-W-O-D?" — What Would Olivia Do? lol πŸ™‚

  3. yes, it is funny the stuff you think about, and forget to praise god for…!
nice outfit oliva…why do you wear a hat on sundays? any particular reason?

    1. In that passage however, Paul ends his statement with "We have no such practice here." Therefore, it is not necessary.
Just thought I might point that out.

  4. Princess Tiger Lily is SO CUTE! And I agree about the tiny prayers and thanks, and not giving thanks for the bigger things in life. Happens to me all the time. πŸ™‚

And lovely outfit btw! The boots and skirt are my favorites. πŸ™‚ Take care!

  7. Cute outfit! Love the boots and earrings! Tiger Lily is adorable! Do you always pick out your clothes a day ahead of time or just for Sundays? Maybe I should start doing that! No special plans for the week. This week I have finals so mostly I will be studying for those!

  8. Olivia, Lovely outfit and your dog is so adorable!! πŸ™‚
If I ever meet her I think I'd try to bundle her back to Texas with me! πŸ˜‰
I was hoping you could tell me where you get your boots from? I've seen several pairs of yours
that I really like and as I'm looking for some of my own, maybe that would help.
This weekend my family is headed for Fayetteville, where the monthly Pickin' Park is held.
My brother and I play in the slow jam area and this month we'll be recording several popular gospel songs
and putting them out on CD. πŸ™‚ I'm excited!
By the way, I thought you would enjoy this song.
    God bless!

    1. Sounds like a great weekend! That's a lovely song.
I get my boots at different places. I think I write on each post where I got the boots, so if you see a pair you particularly like, you can look in the description for specifics. Off the top of my head, I've gotten a pair from these places: Shoe Carnival, a little boot store in Nashville (Boot Country maybe?), TJ Maxx, Amazon, and Stein-mart. Hope you can find some! I have a hard time finding ones I like, and only one pair I have is actually comfortable. πŸ˜› Blessings!

    2. I'm glad you enjoyed it! It's a favorite of my families. πŸ™‚
Oh, of course…sometimes I don't read the description of your outfits, obviously I skipped out on this one. πŸ˜›
Lol! I know what that's like! I bought a gorgeous pair by Naturalizer off e-bay (…found out working in them isn't the best. So I'm checking around for another pair…I'll check out TJ Maxx now. πŸ™‚ Thanks so much for getting back to me on that, Olivia!
      In Christ,
      Sarah J.

  9. What a sweet little puppy! I personally love labs, and retrievers.
(And her name…ADORABLE!) And your cardigan is super cute.
Keep up the awesome work Olivia!

  10. Your dog is SO cute!! πŸ™‚ I have a question for you…where do you find affordable boots? I'm looking for some tall brown ones this winter, and I've tried everywhere! Payless was no help, since the boots I liked were $50, Shoe Carnival's too expensive also, and Wal-Mart didn't have any good ones! Ideas? πŸ™‚ Thanks!

    1. Unfortunately, boots *are* expensive, and they are something I'm willing to pay for. Well, for me "expensive" is $30. Let's see… these I got on clearance at Shoe Carnival for $35. My gray bow boots were on a little sale for $35, and my work boots I paid like $125 for, and got a good deal. My new rain boots were $45ish? and my TJ Maxx cowgirl boots were a steal at $15. They are a size too small though.
I guess I don't really have good advice, except to look for sales and buy clearance. Payless can be semi-affordable if a sibling needs a pair of shoes and you hit the buy one get one half off sale. Or wait until they are on clearance. πŸ˜› I bought a pair at Walmart one year, but they fell apart quickly. And comfort? Well, I torture my feet often and my three prettiest pairs of boots are super uncomfortable… like numb toes after 5 hours kinda thing. πŸ˜›
Wish I had just the perfect secret for finding affordable boots… Let me know if you find any- I'm on the look out for a comfortable pair now! πŸ˜›

    2. Hey Alexandra,
I noticed your comment because I'm looking for a pair of boots too! πŸ˜€
When I buy a pair of boots I look for something quality, that means real leather. My last pair of boots ( I purchased off e-bay for around $40…they were on sale then and have gone up somewhat. Anyways just wanted to say that I use e-bay to find my boots and it's possible to get really good deals if your willing to look or possibly even bid.
I have my eye on this pair right now… What do you think of those?
God bless and I hope you find some awesome boots soon!
      Sarah J.

    3. I recommend thrifting for boots, too! I have gotten some cute boots from garage sales/thrift stores for only $1! And Target has some heeled womens boots as well for only $35. Also, Born boots (a brand) are kinda pricey, but if you wait for a sale (probably would be about $40), you can get comfort + style + a "cheaper" price. You could also check Marshalls… some of their stuff is really cute and cheap!
      Hope this helps, Alexandra! πŸ™‚

  11. Hey Olivia, I was loading some photos onto my blog for one of my posts and it said that I have used up my free 1 GB usage, and that I would have to pay to be able to upload more photos. I was just wondering if you ever happened to you? And If so what did you do about it? Thanks! πŸ™‚

    Blessings, Primrose

    1. Hey Lady! That happened to me, and after researching the options, I found that Google's extra storage plan of $6 a year is really reasonable and allows me to backup my photos online as well. You could also create a whole new email address and blog profile and start again, but that's a lot of trouble. πŸ˜› With the extra storage you can also store more emails. πŸ™‚
      Hope that helps!

  12. I've baught boots at thrift stores before for 3 dollars to 88 cents. Depends on the sale and the thrift store [like if it's goodwill, the deals will likely be the same on everything, but if it's some random place, it prob has some pricing system that has more to do with colored tags and the day of the week]. But usualy boots are more expensive, even at thrift stores. I'm talkin' around 7 dollars and up. I've seen boots at thrift stores for over 20 dollars [which they lowered to around 9, but still, it wasn't worth it, I only had two bucks on me–lol!]. Just gotta be paitent, and keep your eyes opened.

Cute puppy!!! I didn't know puppies came that adorable. How old is she?
